The Bean, football, and a finished project

So The Bean stayed with her oma and opa last night and it was relatively peaceful. Her she is all fresh and clean. I handed her to opa while he was in the shower. She DID NOT like that. She prefers a nice sedate little bath. She is the cutest thing on the planet (in my book, anyway) and I can't believe how big she is getting already. She just turned 3 months old! Aside from the barfing, (BunBun calls her Ralph) she is a joy to have around. I never knew I could have so much fun with a squirming little human.

Here is my son, Levi. He is #64 and is the center for the varsity Ferndale Wildcats. This pic was taken last Saturday when the Wildcats KILLED East Nicholas by about 50 points. Last night the team traveled to Willits to play and they won that game as well, 44-16. I'm so proud of Levi and his commitment to his team and the sport he loves. He eats conscientiously (most of the time) and although he plays other sports in the off-season, he works year round to stay ready for football. He is the boy GOD promised me and i couldn't be more proud.

Here is the butterfly I made for the Holocaust Butterfly Project. I basically took a brown grocery bag, measured the size limits, and drew a butterfly within that space. Next I took some card stock and cut it into squares and glued them onto the drawing, overlapping when i needed to to cover the bag. When it had dried, i took a black sharpie and went around the entire outline and each and every piece of card stock. Then i cut it out and mailed it to Houston. I think it looks like stained glass, kind of. Not the most gorgeous piece of artwork, but something I'm proud of nonetheless.

fluttering butterflies

butterflies are everywhere! i only wish they were real ones....but it's still beautiful. i have been busy making button fairies with butterfly wings and i am getting ready to make one big butterfly. why all the flutterby's you ask? well the button fairies are for starla's and my booth at the farmer's market. the big butterfly is for the butterfly project for the houston holocaust museum. to learn more about either- i've posted before about both- you can go here for button fairies or here for the butterfly project. back to the buttering flutterby's i mean the fluttering butterflies.

crafting frenzy

so lately i've been on a crafting binge...among all the other drama going on, it helps keep me sane. sorta...anyway...the following pictures are just some of what i have been up to. hope you like

these are pics of a hanging wall decoration i made for natalia's bedroom. it's made with brown grocery bags, salvaged buttons, and some ribbon. i know i saw something similar on the internet in all my searchings, but i can't find it now...if i run across it i will update this post. but it's pretty simple to do. if you have questions, just ask.

this is a button fairy i made for a swap on swap-bot. i had never made one before but i like how it turned out. if you have never tried it and would like to, go here for directions

this is a little summer dress i made for my lil bean....i got the idea from Joy's Hope. she has a great site and i just modified what was already a great design. i changed it a little to fit my smaller bean and added some buttons. haven't tried it on her yet so not sure if it will fit but i think it will.... the first pic is the back of the dress and the other is obviously the front

also have been working on more stuff that isn't ready to post yet....

the holocaust butterfly project

here is a great way to try your crafting "wings" and help remember the smallest victims of the Holocaust, the children. Go to this site to find out more . basically you craft a 2-dimensional butterfly and mail it to the Holocaust museum in houston, texas. over 400,000 butterflies have already been collected but that is not nearly enough. each butterfly represents one child victim of the nazi regime. sadly, they need approximately 1,500,00 to represent each one of those child victims. please do your part to help remember the children and to remind others so it never happens again.
