I think these are absolutely gorgeous and it could easily be adapted to be a flower brooch.
You can pick one of these up at Maya's Etsy shop.
I can't wait to make one of these and pin all my ideas and inspirations to it.
I know the love for all things burlap is going to grow. Just remember that Maya was doing it long before it became the "in" thing. She is a very talented and inspiring lady and if you're not reading her blog, you really should add it to your faves.
P.S. This post was completely unsolicited and I received nothing in return for it except a nice email when I asked Maya if I could use some of her pictures. Thanks Maya!
Cindi, thank you for such a beautiful post on burlap... and all of your kind words about my work. Please contact me if you have any questions, when you DO get your hands on some burlap.
ReplyDeletethe first year I was married I made Garry and me Christmas Stockings using burlap - I stenciled on the design and used red yarn to stitch them together. I even put our names on them. I also made one for the our dog, Bonsi.
ReplyDeleteI remember as a little girl going with my parents and picking walnuts and using burlap bags. It must be the smell....
